ABOUT THE ARTIST

Photo of a young person with dark hair and medium light skin, a black septum piercing, blue star face stickers, wearing a dark blue baseball cap, a mauve hoodie, a light gray raincoat, and binoculars. They are holding a tiny frog in their hands.

Sylver is an undergraduate student at UC Berkeley studying conservation, forestry, and marine ecology. They are active in campus communities including the Multicultural Community Center, Cal Queer & Asian, the Wildlife Society at Berkeley, Cal Forestry Club, and the Students of Color Environmental Collective, which they have designed various graphics for. They also actively co-manage their etsy shop, Gobworm, which has over 10,000 sales of various designs centered on queerness and wildlife. Their art takes much inspiration from the natural world, particularly local California wildlife and fungi. They are interested in working in science illustration, science communication, land management, field work, tattoo art, merch design, freelance illustration, and non-profit work.
